VXA-300 is a compact, stylish, solid hand-held transceiver providing
communication (transmit and receive) capability on the International
Aircraft Communication Band ("COM" band: 118 ~ 136.975 MHz), and it
additionally provides VOR and CDI navigation features on the "NAV" band
(108 ~ 117.975 MHz).
Vertex Standard VXA-700 SPIRIT
The VXA-700 is the world's first Aviation Transceiver, VOR, Amateur,
Radio Transceiver and FM broadcast receiver all in one. The reason for the
VXA-700 was because Vertex Standard found that may pilots are also Amateur Radio
operators also, thus the VXA-700 was born. Here's some of the specs on

Aviation band, transmits and receives from 118.00-136.975 Mhz.
Whooping 5-watts of transmit power on the aviation band.
Receives all VOR frequencies.
Transmit on one frequency and receive on another (Flight Watch).
192 Memory Channels, includes 102 "Main" memories plus 90
pre-programmed "Book" memories for quick & easy recall of the
channels you use most. The memories may be label with a title such as
"TWR", "GND".
Submersible, meets JIS-7 standards (immersion to 3' for 30 minutes).

here. Rubber bumpers on the bottom corners are for added protection.
Comes with a Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery. This 1,300mAh
Lithium-Ion Battery provides hours of operation and plenty of charges
without "Memory" effect. With the optional CD-15A charging
stand and NC-72B/C AC adapter, the FNB-801L1 battery may be charged in as
little as 2.5 hours. The optional FBA-23 alkaline battery pack is
recommended to have in the flight bag just in case the rechargeable goes
south.
Multi-Color Strobe LED Status Indicator. Among the more innovative
features of this product is the full-color Strobe LED, which provides
indication of a number of transceiver status items using different colors.

NOAA Weather Channels. The VXA-700 can receive all 10 NOAA weather
channels.
NOAA "Severe Weather" Alert. the VXA-700 includes a
feature that sounds an alarm when a special "Severe Weather" alert
tone is received from the Weather Broadcast station. This warns you of
potentially lifte-threatening flying conditions.
